Every year, people from in and around central Pennsylvania gather near Altoona, PA for a candlelight vigil. The event, now in its 11th year, is held to highlight those who suffer from mental health disorders and raise awareness about mental health issues. A number of people will speak about their own personal experiences with mental health disorders and their journey towards recovery. The organizers hope that individuals who attend who have not yet sought help with their own issues will be encouraged by these stories to seek help.
